J15: Blue Ridge High School
(Saxaphone in the background, I light a cigarette)
Monday was a cool and early morning, a little too early, as all five of us J’s piled into Paul’s champange Toyota Corolla…thank god the windows worked, for the coffee he brought us that morning was not sitting well in my stomach. I would have felt a little resonsible for the low team moral on our first day of residency at Blue Ridge, had that backseat window not worked. Since I’m on the subject of gas I might as well let you know that I thought it was mighty nice of Paul to let us use his car and not pay for gas…for the price we would have to pay later that morning, with those high schoolers, could of covered a 20 person bill at American Grocery.
Just kidding, I felt like going a little noir this evening. Anyway, the kids were awesome! Nick, Lauren, and myself taught two, hour and a half, morning classes. The first, a freshman english class, the second, an advanced drama class. Dave and Jenn taught the afternoon class, which I believe was a underclassman drama class of about 33 kids. Everything from my end went great, I think we reached more kids than we expected too. After the show this morning, which got a double bow…by the way (brushes shoulder off), 2 guys from the english class came up to us and complimented the choice of songs and said ‘they went with the show very well.’ All and all it was a great experience can’t wait for the next one…hopefully the coffee will be better.

I’m glad it went well! And I love that the kids approved of the music. Go JIFTEEN!
