Rainbow Annie is the Angel of Death

It’s true. She is.

It’s a World Premiere of a new play by Distracted Globe’s Jayce Tromsness…Theatrical Renaissance Man…directed by Theatrical Renaissance Woman Anne Tromsness.

When: Jan 4th & 5th at 8pm Jan 6th at 3pm
Where: Warehouse Theatre
Who: The Distracted Globe meets The Warehouse Theatre

What: Anne Murdock Atwood has been the host of the popular kids’ show "T-Time with Rainbow Annie" for years, but when her plans to leave the show to marry her producer/long-time boyfriend fall through at the last moment, she takes it upon herself to hijack the studio during a live broadcast - complete with wedding dress and heavy artillery. Told through the live broadcast (with her puppeteer and his truthful puppet sidekick at her side), Annie takes the chance to work out some issues, and to teach the children in her studio audience some REAL life lessons.

IT’S COLD! GET ME BACK TO GREENVILLE!!!

thank you. see you on the 1st, South Carolina. :^)

P.S. can’t wait to see Rainbow Annie. aside from the fact that i saw pictures of muppets with the facebook group, i’m excited.

Greer High School

Spent a great hour this morning talking to a high school theatre class about having a career in the theatre…really good group of kids and they asked some really smart questions and at least one of them really wants a career in the theatre…

CRAZY BUSY

We are CRAZY busy over here…RECKLESS closes this weekend. Looking forward to seeing the show again and hanging out with that cast…a great group of folks…and a blippin’ hilarious show! I am sorry to see it close! IMPROV TOO THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next week we have TWO NEW shows…yes, two NEW shows…on Thursday Jay Hastings and Rory Scovel are doing their NEW comedy routine…one at 7pm and one at 9:30…the Theatre will open at 6pm for the 7pm show and 8:30 for the 9:30 show.  This is GREAT…HALF of the ticket revenue will be going to a great cause, a local foundation called Clement’s Kindness Fund…a small local non profit that gives travel and monetary assistance to low income families that have kids with serious diseases…so come and laugh and help local kids in need at the same time with Jay and Rory’s COMEDY HELPS KIDS CONCERT on Thursday December 21st.  Call for info 235-6948.  Go to YouTube and check them out. The show is RATED R…the proceeds are for kids…not the jokes!

Then THE VERY NEXT DAY, another event, Greenville native, former Miss South Carolina (she’s smart too), and now a very busy working Broadway actress is doing ONE NIGHT ONLY of her Classical Cabaret on Friday Dec 21st.  It’s the perfect easy evening of song and good hearted entertainment…a sweet evening to kick off your Holiday week!!!! ONE SHOW ONLY! Call for tix 235-6948.

And on top of these two events and closing out RECKLESS The Warehouse Theatre is moving into a new positive phase of it’s life. The Board and the staff and I are preparing for our Board Retreat the weekend of January 12th.  We’re going away and coming back with a new strategic plan of how to get The Warehouse out of the Red and into the Black AND into a new prosperous and exciting life…We’re gonna make this place work!…and thank YOU for reading about it. Please make posts and let me know what you’re thinking about. I would love to hear about your experience with and at The Warehouse.

Reckless Understudy Performance A Smash Success!

Hiya folks,

We just finished the understudy performance for Reckless, and I just wanted to say how proud I am of Lauren Dykes, David Ryan, and Jennifer Weinreich for all the hard work they put in and the performances that they gave!  It was really wonderful to see them on stage, giving their own interpretations of these three extraordinary roles.  Congratulations, guys!

It would be ridiculous of me not to thank the other two Journeymen, Nick Simon and Jason Shipman, for all of their hard work as well these past few months.  Not only were they acting in Reckless and travelling with Wooden O’s Romeo & Juliet, they acted as joint tech directors for Reckless.  All five Journeymen have had crazy Novembers and Decembers, with work days topping out at 12 hours almost constantly, and I want to thank them for all their incredibly hard work and dedication in making Reckless what it is.

What I guess I’m trying to say is this: If you see them in the street, buy them a beer.

 -Ryan
