No More Abandonded Carts

Really nothing to do with the Warehouse Theatre or theatre in general…but a story I think everyone who has ever shopped at a store in their lives and decided to not walk the cart back…your actions have consequences…For you born Southerners: rename this post No More Abandonded Buggies.

March 8th Comedians

YAY! college!

No.  Actually, high school.  The J’s are back in action as of today teaching Shakespeare to South Carolina High School students everywhere.  Travelers Rest is the beginning of our tour of Midsummer Night’s Dream this final half of the year.  Our students so far have been an interesting bunch to say the least.  I actually think they should eat Midsummer right up with the way they behave in class, lol.

And in other news… I can talk about it since its on the calendar on the web site now.  Myself and Ms. Weinreich (the two musical Js) will be doing a musical loosely based on Pride and Prejudice with another former musical J(Ms. Jennifer Goff) and some others local actors entitled I Love You Because.  Its a special event planned for the weekend after the closing of Sight Unseen.  So start spreading the word, and come see SIGHT UNSEEN. (The set is awesome… i’m willing to be the acting is too!)

First Annual Tie Giveaway

Ladies and gentlemen…I am proud to announce something ELSE new at the Warehouse Theatre…we have had our first ever Warehouse Theatre Annual Necktie Giveaway…yes…once every year we will give away one free necktie to a lucky member of the audience…it is a floating event and you never know when it might happen.  Today we gave away a happy heart, boy and girl tie.  Very nice, very sweet.  The lucky winner was Mr. Ward.  Mr. Ward, I hope you enjoy your very own happy heart boy and girl tie. Enjoy…no re-gifting!

Sight Unseen 1st Read

Ladies and gents…tonight we begin rehearsals for Sight Unseen, our next offering…please check here for more info about rehearsals and our production in general.  You’ll be able to see research pics, ramblings etc…check back tomorrow I should post some source images that we used for design purposes….oh what the heck here’s one. MarguliesGiacometti  used to be a visual artist and he cites three artists as being inspirations to him…so I  figured if they were inspirational to the playwright we might as well incorporate them into this finely woven play.  Here is one from Giacometti. Enjoy…more later.

Moderated Comments

Hey…for all you actors (and anyone else) who want to comment on the B-Log…just know that all comments are moderated…we’re not gonna change anything or not post anything…just know that if you don’t immediately see your comment…it’ll be up as soon as I can hit the approve button.
But it’s General Operating Grant Proposal season so I’m up to my earballs in convincing people with money that we are worthy.

Wish me lucks! and keep those comments coming!

UPTA Wrap-Up

So UPTA was a great success. EVERYONE who came to callbacks was great! We will be able to have a stellar 16th Journeyman class.
I left on Sunday afternoon so I could be in the office to prep for a Board Meeting yesterday…Leaving wasn’t a problem because I know that I can cast the Journeymen for next year’s class.
Many thanks to everyone who I saw at callbacks…you ALL rocked.
Also, if you were at UPTA, make sure Michael Detroit knows about your experience…they do a great job and they should be told so…also, if there are any improvements they CAN make…they WILL….ok…next UPTA blog will be about offers!!!

non musical auditions

today’s non-musical auditions are much better than yesterday’s. These actors have been in the world for a year or two, yesterday’s were fresh out of school, or rather soon to be.
