well…I have a little break before the next couple of actors show up for callbacks…and if I had to hire two of the lady Js from the first two actresses at callbacks…we would do very good. Exciting and damn they can speak some Shakespeare. Very excited about the program as a whole too…well…we’ll see what we can put together…so far so good.

it hurts. can I say a$$ on a blog?

So, the first 110 actors have done their thing and we have another 108 after lunch…then callbacks tonight until around Midnight…then the whole thing again tomorrow. A lot of really good actors and some ouches…I hate that moment that you know someone needs to find a new career…and some of those were even getting their BFAs…poor dears being led astray by a school that should know better. And THEN there are those kids that you think are not gonna deliver and when they start, you know they’re gonna have a rich and interesting career. There are a number of folks that I would love to have the season after next…some I would love to cast in our first production of next season but are unavailable until Sept…I’m trying to get people to Greenville for a mid july start, so they can be part of the first show as well as rehearse the Wooden O performance in early August…so..it’ll be interesting juggling all these variables…and…there are about 150 other companies here. OK…we’re starting up again…callbacks until midnight…zoinks!

I found Danny Murray and Jayce Tromsness and Monica Bell on someone’s resume…I assure you this actor will get a callback before I even see his audition.

I feel like this is the first real blog…away from home and reporting…so I have arranged the room for callbacks and am looking through tomorrow’s headshots…I’ll bring everything home with me for my audition class. Next tuesday we meet about headshots and resumes and these will show every good and bad type…hey…I’m wondering, by chance, if there are any actors at UPTAs who are reading this…comment!!…more later.
