The Heart

If you haven’t seen "Hear Whats in the Heart; A Shoemakers Tale" you are missing out.  Local actor Steve Scionti is nothing short of brilliant.  This one man show takes you on a journey through his life, and the invaluable lessons he learned from his grandfather and his family.  There is never a dull moment as this versatile and flexible actor takes you on a tour of more than six characters, each with their own idiosyncrasies, faults and personality.  We are very priviledged to have Steve Scionti here at the warehouse, as a reaccurring performer.  "Hear whats in the Heart" is mounted with little scenery, and sparce lighting, often in front of sets for other plays which are taking place concurrently - could be distracting, but the excellence of the performance as well as the charisma of Steve transforms the world on stage with him into the many locations of his youth: a pizza parlour, a school room, a shoe shop and many more.  This is a truly special show, and you would be remiss to miss it.  This is a great holiday story about love, family and the pursuit of one’s dreams!

What I should be Doing

We all have things we should do, we all have things we want to do, and we all have things we need to do.  Writing a blog entry, at this moment, is all of those things for me.  We just finished out second Saturday performance of "Almost, MAine" which was sold out again… So if you should-want-need to see it, then you need to call ahead and reserve you tickets!

Wooden O

Well, we have two more rehearsals till we have to perform snippets of Hamlet!  We are close to having it ready. Its great to finally have this play on its feet and moving.  Its an interesting cutting of a great play, we have removed a lot of the sub-plots, distilling the play down to a short family drama.  Which makes it sound more inane than it really is, the weight of the play has stayed intact, in fact its kind of like hamlet concentrate.  You know, like how orange juice comes?  its all think and intense with flavor and potential.

Gearing Up, Winding Down…

Well, Im getting really excited to being my time at The Warehouse!  Im here at Idaho Rep. right now, we have our last performance of "The Nerd" tonight and two more performances of "Twelfth Night" coming at the end of this week.  Then its the long drive down to Greenville!  Im looking forward to a new adventure!!!
